IKEA Grand Opening

Finally, I have something to post about...
I camped out in front of IKEA last night to be one of the first 100 people in the door so I could get a free chair and a $20 gift certificate. It was fun! Played frisbee, beach ball and cards all night. This morning there was lots of "hoop-la" - a swedish choir, radio/TV people, Shirly Franklin, jugglers on stilts and the Atlanta Drum Line did a show for us.
Then, we we walked in to shop all the IKEA employees were screaming and clapping and handing out high-fives worse than Bart does. Balloons and confetti fell from the ceiling. I was like "YEAH!!! I'M GONNA SHOP AND BUY STUFF NOW!!!!". #32 customer through the door on opening day - something to be proud of.

Danville, KY

I'm in KY - privy to be staying in the town with the "worlds largest boot". Seriously, everyone we run into makes claim to it. Thing is...I haven't seen it yet. Go figure. This job is for Red Wing Shoe Company and it's going great so far. We set up today, the event is tomorrow, and we'll hit the road tomorrow night. Next week I'm actually in Atlanta working. Week after that I'm off to Nashville, TN to work an event for T-Mobile. Hopefully I'll see Darci. Hear that Darci? I wish I had a mountain bike on these trips. These towns are really pretty and it'd be nice to ride through smaller roads that the truck can't go.

I'd like to update my blog more often but all I have to post about is my traveling job and Ultimate Frisbee (which is going pretty sweet). I'll tell you what...I'll start bringing my digital camera on these trips so I can post funny shots I see on the road and I can have more to fill your time up with. Not pictures like the worlds largest boot though...

Hello Friends

Hello everyone,

Sorry I've been MIA over the web lately. That's what happens when you don't have a desk at work anymore. I've been cleaning/painting the old place at Warfield. Sad....

BUT! we went to Clearwater FL for Memorial Day weekend and it ROCKED!! It was so great to see everyone - especially the out of towners. Heidi, Sarah, Will & Jim...we miss you! I'll post pics from the weekend as soon as I can. We all got lovely tans.

So I'm off to VA tomorrow for another event with the job. Hopefully I'll get internet access at the hotel again. Then, you can definately expect more posts and those pictures from Cleatwater. Frisbee this Sunday, GT Crew Alumni happy hour / trivia at Stool Pigeons next Tuesday. I know you can read other blogs for that info - but it's just a reminder.
