A New Way to Rock

All I want for Christmas is "The Virtual Air Guitar"

Well...it's just a project right now (developed at the Helsinki University of Technology). That "adds genuine electric guitar sounds to the passionately played air guitar"

The Blog World

Can I just say that the blog world is awesome. I know my blog and information is public - information is vunerlable for anyone to view - though I have the confort that only my friends really do visit. The reason for this outburst is a new addition to my list of "blog stars". My new friend Jelena who is a Leo and likes Tequila, Sunshine, Cranium, Rope Swings, and CocaCocaCLASSIC. All pluses...and I need to discuss this organizational development with her...

Marathon...check!

Well. I did it. I ran a marathon. A full one. A bug full marathon. Full of aches, pains, people handing out gummy bears and brownies, and beautiful Philadelphia sites. We ran by the river a lot and saw many crews practicing. I couldn't help but wish I was rowing rather than running. Though running is a glorious feeling and can clear the mind of any worry...rowing just isn't as hard on the joints. Bart ran as well. He is a trooper and waited for me at the finish so we could waddle to our hotel together. Nothing like walking around the streets of Philadelphia like you have a stick up your buttox. Congradulations to HEIDI SCHAFER on a Personal Record!

Really?

I was going to keep my marathon run this weekend on the DL...because it still just seems like such a long distance and a very hard journey. But Heidi gave a shout out so I suppose I can announce it too.

I'm running the Philly marathon this Sunday. It still doesn't seem real. Finishing is my goal. Finishing without walking would be nice. That reminds me. I need to drink water today and tomorrow.

Harry Potter is tonight. I'm so excited!!

I would like to have a holiday gathering

I want to have a Holiday Party (which will be themed to Christmas but is really just an excuse to play games, drink different drinks, bake cookies, wear holiday gear and spread holiday cheer).

Reasons for this decision include:
1) Our house is so cute and it will be decorated so someone should see it.
2) Suzanna can feel at home when we play a YANKEE gift swap. (yes Suzanna, I just called you a Yankee. I'm so awesome)
3) Bailey's in Coffee is my favorite drink
4) It would be nice to get together when out of towners are in town
5) I also like Hot Apple Cider
6) Holiday food is fun to make and eat
7) Our neighbors have so many parties, we look like losers.
8) I own "Elf" and Bart has not seen it yet.
9) E-Vite is Awesome
10) I need to wear that Holiday Sweater I got for Christmas last year.

So here is the thing. A date. Not like "who are you bringing" date...more like "when should we do this when most people are in town" date. I believe the weekend of the 17th to be too early for out of towners to be here (Will, Sarah, Jim, Heidi, Justin). But would in-towners be out of town on Friday the 23rd? Maybe we'll just make it on the 10th and whoever can make it - makes it.

Comment suggestions on a date.

Seriously - a date suggestion please. Get your input in so you can make this festive, classy occasion.

Me and My Life

So I start the 8-5 thing again on Monday the 21st. My first week is a 2.5 day week - I'm liking it all ready.
So this week will be spent organizing Erg Sprints (yes folks, yours truly is the Director again), and getting ready for Christmas (cookies, shopping, etc.). So don't expect a whole lot of amazing posts in the near future. That implies my others posts are actually amazing, which they aren't...so I guess pretty much expect the same thing.

So I visited the link Cassi posted about.

And I'm 19 years old. Who wants to be underage again? When will I grow up? Why did someone eat all the JellyBellies for breakfast?

Here are some other tests I took:

Candy Cigarettes

You're a total badass, but you don't taste very good.

You Are a Strawberry Daiquiri

You're a fun, playful drinker who loves to party.
You may get totally wasted, but you're always a happy drunk!

Smith Olde Bar? Thursday night? Comment if interested.

Days Gone By...

Hello my avid readers,

The last I left you I was about to embark on a 800 mile journey via truck and ride from Mississippi rowers. The trip was a success. 105 mph in an Xterra is enough to make anyone hold onto the oh-shit bar. But I got to Chattanooga the same night of the morning I left Dallas and prepared to race 20 other boats at the Head of the Hooch. Preparation was also a success. We won, held a Winners lunch, and walk around Chattanooga boasting our Winner Status. It's nice to be a Winner. For more information about us being Winners, visit HERE and HERE.

So after all the winning I drove to Jacksonville for work :( But got to stay with my mom on this trip. Work was fine. Sterno is allowed in J-ville and mom had wine (see previous post for comparison) so it's been nice. We had a good morning on the beach and will leave for A-town Thursday AM.

Next winning adventure: Head of the South. Is Beth organizing the picnic?

House of Mirrors

I now know why you don't mess with Texas. Because they'll put you in a room of mirrors and drop the sun right at your eye level - (aka driving through Dallas to Irving at rush hour getting the sun from all directions off of buildings).

Irving: a dry county that decided that Sterno is a fire hazard in an open tent...making my life harder to serve hot food to 600 people over a period of 10 hours. Nice. Awesome. Anyways, I don't like talking about work and it's over so it's all good.

Tomorrow I drive to MS and meet up with some nice MS rowers who will take me with them to the Hooch-a-Nooga. Rowers are so awesome. All in a days drive. Just me, the road, some nice rowers, a truck, and this job way behind me. 800 miles. I guess in the scheme of things that isn't too far.

Truckin'

So I'm on my way to Texas for work...and I'm about to find out if everything is bigger there. I'll let you know. From there I go to Chattanooga to race at the Hooch-a-Nooga (Don't steal that name - I'm trademarking it). Then I'm off to Jacksonville for work, then over to Augusta for Head of the South. Busy two weeks.

Thought I'd post a quick link I saw on the news this morning.
I though our nation was getting healthier?

I also so this cool qroup of young ladies who were "girlcotting" those stupid T-Shirts that say "Porn Star" and other stupid stuff like that. I thought that was pretty awesome too, but couldn't find a good article to post.

happy halloweenie

So I missed the treat-or-treaters, but I did get to see lots of crazy cats over the weekend. Here is a living pinata and her counter-part.
